I have a hard time jogging on the treadmills or around the track. I feel like the hardcore gym fiends are judging me on my form, etc. LOL anyone else feel this way? What do you think?

yea i feel the same way when im working out with weights that the bigger stronger guys are watching saying pshh I could do that weight with my pinky, but as long as your doing something you know is good and good for you you shouldn't let that bother you cause they're there for the same reason you're there, unless they're just watching ppl instead of working out http://mytotalfitness.blogspot.com/

I don't feel this way, but i can see how some people might feel self-conscious. Out of all the gyms I've worked out at not once did I see someone make fun or someone because they're not doing an exercise with proper form. Everyone is there to exercise not put down or judge others, try not to be self-concious no one is judging you.

lol yah. i used to jog at my local park and there are these other people jogging faster and longer. i jogged 1 lap and then started walking and these 2 couples jogged past me like 3 times while i was walking the lap, i was like WTF. but yeah you could distract yourself by bringing your ipod to the gym or something and concentrate on yourself.

Yeah I feel the same way. It doesn't help that some people are very insensitive, rude or even judgemental about others. When my mom goes to the gym she still gets people saying very mean things to her. Sometimes it still bothers her but then sometimes she's just like what ever. The regulars there of course know her so it's not them. Smile I say that b/c my mom worked her butt off (literally.....lol) to lose weight the natural way. No surgery, no pills, shakes, special bars, ect. Just changed her eating habits, watched what she ate and still watches what she eats and exercises. She has lost a total of about 200 pounds!!! I told you that because my point is that no matter how others make you feel you know what your body needs and you should go for it no matter what others have to say. If they don't like it then they shouldn't be looking!! (I know easier said than done!! I tell myself that too) Also, if someone else is going to judge you then it's their problem. Look at it like this, while they are staring at you then just smile at them. Or what my mom did once, she said to the guy "I know you admire me but could you please stop staring so I can finish my workout? Thank you!" Another time she says "I know I am looking good thank you for noticing!!" I mean, just little comments or just a smile will tell people that you notice them staring at you, and more often than not it gets them embarrassed not you!! I know the guy that my mom said that too never stared at her again! Actually normally, even to this day, when he sees her he will leave that room and go into another workout room!! LOLBut yes, I deal with the same thing!!
