| Hi, as far as I know, when it comes to calories burned only running on treadmill for an hour will equal the calories burned by elliptical or more. Now my clarification is, I have been walking on treadmill for an hour and burning about 400 cals. I also did 1 hour on elliptical and it shows about 700 cals. Is this a true representation that elliptical is better??...it is indicating that I better do elliptical rather than treadmill since it is burning more cals in the same time!!Can I safely assume that elliptical is burning more in the same time? |

| But your comparing walking on a treadmill to using the elliptical, which is not the same. Yes it feels like you aren't doing much more than walking on the elliptical but it burns more calories because of the angle your legs are being lifted thus burning more calories. Mix it up a little though and do both each week to break up your routine |
