I don't like to run (i can do it, but i get bored easily), but i love group fitness, such as body step and body combat.is doing one of these classes a day just as effective as running?

It'll work you out differently. Take classes like Cardio Kickboxing or something with "Cardio" in it to get a similar workout to running. (Talking about muscle groups)But yeah, group classes are great workouts.

Basically if you burn off more calories than you take in, you will lose weight, no matter what form of exercise you choose. However, I personally think that cardio work such as your body combat etc will be more effective than just running.

Your exercise plan is most definitely sufficient! Running can be bad for your joints anyway and can lead to long term damage. But, a balanced diet is key to weight loss. You do not need to eliminate the fatty foods you love, just learn moderation. It really helped me to eat 6 small meals a day rather than 3 large meals. Also, make sure to eat a low fat, low sugar, high fiber breakfast every morning. I also avoided eating 3 hours before I went to sleep, which really helped. Keep yourself well hydrated too!
