roughly speaking how exercise would you have to do each day to be able to eat normally. My friends can eat cereal for breakfast , big Mac and chips with salad and ice cream for lunch and roast dinner of supper , and potato chips in between. So if they can eat all that and not lput on weight they must be burning more calories them me .What I need to know is how much exercise should I do to be able to eat normally. The big Mac is an example not an everyday thing. What are they doing to be able to eat all of that food and not put on weight .Where I always have to really be careful.Kady we are all in our 30s

You should concentrate on building muscle mass. The more muscle you have the faster and more efficiently you will use calories.

certainly you can go by charts for exercise, but then you would need to count all the calories you're taking in. Why even worry about what they're doing? Do you feel good? are you healthy and happy? You're not going to gain fifty pounds by having a big mac once in awhile but having them daily isn't good for you anyway.

Ruby, first off you must realize that what your friends are doing is not eating normally. Or healthy. You should concentrate on a healthy diet and sensible exercise programs. Depends on your metabolism, and propensity to carry fat. Half an hour a day, 1 hour every two days, should be fine for most. Make sure it is intense exercise though.

You didn't mention your age... but guessing by what your friends are eating i'm assuming your probabaly in junior high or high school... Thats how I ate when I was in school, and the ONLY reason why I didn't gain weight was because I did school sports every season. Had practice everyday for about 2 hours after school and got to hang out with all my friends... and, the best part.. I ate whatever I wanted, when I wanted, and never gained a pound. Now that i'm in college and not as active i'm starting to gain a little weight and now I have to watch what a eat, so no being thin does not run in my genes. It was simply from doing sports. So, go sign up for some school sports, and your problem will be solved. Oh, sorry. Wow... your friends eat like kids then! I'm really surprised they can eat like that.

There are many people that eat anything they want and don't gain a pound, no exercise etc. It all depends on your body, your metabolism. You can't expect to eat the same thing as your friends and not gain a pound. The best thing to do is cardio in the morning to keep your metabolism running through out the day. All that food you mentioned is really unhealthy but if you exercise (cardio) daily, you can eat whatever you like once in a while, just not every day. You may eat moderately, like the chips in between aren't really necessary, you could eliminate those. And the fast food restaurants which are undeniably good, but they contain lots of sodium which store water in your body and make you feel bloated. But once in a while is not bad, just as long as you keep exercising dailiy. Good luck
