| I am currently trying to gain weight from anorexia with the help of professionals who have restricted my exercise and written out a meal plan for me. The meal plan is geared towards gaining muscle weight but I have some concerns. I used to run for a little over an hour a day, and now I'm not allowed to run for a month, so I walk 40 minutes a day at a 10% incline on the treadmill. Then in the evenings I do 300 crunches and some light weights for my arms. The big thing for me is that I want to keep a flat, defined stomach. But it seems like when I wake up in the morning, it's squishier than usual and sort of flabby feeling. Then sometimes as the day goes on and I poop (for lack of a better word) and pass gas, it flattens out. Is this just bloating from what I've eaten the day before, or am I putting on fat weight? People keep telling me that my body will replenish muscle before it replenishes fat because it's so torn down from the anorexia but I don't know... |

| There is no truth in the statement that "body will replenish muscle before it replenishes fat because it's so torn down". If it would have been so, every fat guy would be able to bench press ridiculous amount. First of all, fat cells fills up with fat, water and some protein but, muscle cell fills up "mostly" with protein. Its the amount of protein that you eat and stimuli you give to your body that results in muscle growth. If you fell gas or bloating tell to your coach. Exercise regularly and eat lots of protein. Your metabolism would have slowed down too much and hence you may gain some fat but, slowly your metabolism will speed up...Best of Luck!!! |
