I'm 6'2 and weigh only 155lbs. I'm trying to gain 20-30lbs of muscle. Any advice on what to eat (and when)?

... I don't have the money for a personal trainer, but I'm currently enrolled at 24hr fitness. So how many times a wk should I go (what exercises to do), what to eat, and what supplements to take. I've had Muscle Milk before, it was pretty good. Smile Thanks in advance for your response...

My boyfriend was in your same situation a few months ago. He started lifting in june and has put on about 20 pounds since then. He goes to the gym 5 days a week and lifts for around 45 minutes to an hour. He drinks protein shakes two times a day, even on the days that he doesn't work out. He also drinks stuff called Cell Tech, some kind of creatine solution. The main thing is to take in A LOT of protein. If you are trying to gain muscle, you are supposed to eat as many grams as you weight. So, you weight 155 pounds, you need to consume 155 grams of protein per day. Things that are high in protein include eggs, tuna, chicken, nuts, beef, cheese etc. When you are lifting be sure to do about 3 sets of 10 repetitions. That's the best way to build muscle. Oh, and one last thing. My boyfriend tends to focus on one body part on one day. For example, monday will be an arms day. He will do biceps, triceps, etc on that day. Then tuesday would be a chest day, working out the pecs and delts. Then wednesday would be a leg day. He has 4 days of rotation, that way there is plenty of rest in between each lifting session.
