If you really need/want to gain some muscles, you can try lift weighting. And you don't even need to get weights, you can use water bottles and etc. Just anything around you.But make sure to start with very light weights and move your way up. Don't go straight to heavy weighs.---

Pushups are a great upper body strengthener.Check out a book from the library involving different exercises and their movements, or look up exercises online, then you can learn them.Use things around the house as weights, like two containers filled with coins for dumbbells, or a backpack filled with books, or anything that you feel is heavy enough to get a good workout. Lay a towel/blanket on the floor so you don't get carpet burn on your back or hands. To build muscle eat tons of protein, eggs, peanut butter, nuts, and meat. They are full of protein and the "good" fats that don't clog your heart. Of course, balance these out with fresh veggies and fruit, so you don't consume too little complex carbs. Eat carbs before your workout, protein after your workout.Hope this helps!

Dynamic tension is one technique. You pit muscles against each other. For example, with your hands clasped together you try to push them together or you try to pull them apart. The dynamic tension champion was Charles Atlas and perhaps you could try web searches for "dynamic tension" + bodybuilding and "dynamic tension" + "charles atlas".
