I really want eat healthier and lose some weight. I've noticed that I've gained quite a bit of weight. At least, I feel like I have. Here's a meal plan I've thought of to use a general guide. It may differ from day to day depending on what foods I have available to me but here it is:Breakfast:- 2 fruits- 2 slices of toast (white bread. I can't seem to like any other kind) with peanut butter- a glass of juice, or a box of juicy juice (yeah, i still drink those :])Lunch:- This greatly depends on what school is serving for lunch. I'll try to use the salad bar more and get fruits and veggies in with what they're serving. If there's pizza, I'll go with cheese to avoid the extra grease from the pepperoni or other meat. I'll try to make a healthy lunch choice.- Every other day, I'll make my own lunch to bring to school. This will include 2 fruits, a sandwich (ham/turkey, shredded lettuce, cheese, and mustard or bologna and cheese), and a LUNAbar ( http://www.lunabar.com/). If a LUNAbar isn't available, I'll substitute for a small pack of animal crackers or a Kellogg's Nutrigrain bar. I'll drink water.Dinner:- I'll try to incorporate more veggies in with my dinner.- I have white rice for dinner at least 2 times a week. It's the only kind of rice my family eats, so I can't change that.- There will probably be eggs used.- I'll try to have a bowl of soup to help fill me up before I eat dinner so that I don't need to eat as much.- When I don't have rice for dinner, I'll have something like chicken or fish with some kind of veggie and mashed potatoes.- Again, I'll drink water with my dinner.I'll also drink water throughout the day and eat a snack between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. Is there anything I can do to improve it and to add more variety? I tend to get sick of eating the same thing over and over again, so any advice is appreciated. I've always said I wanted to eat healthier and lose weight, but it's so hard without some sort of support system. This time, I really want to stick with it. Any help/advice is welcome :] Thanks! If breakfast is the only time I'll be drinking juice, is it that bad? One box of juicy juice has 100 calories, and orange or apple juice is about the same.In terms of exercise, I'll try going to the gym 3 times a week beginning next month after I, hopefully, get my license. Right now, the only thing I can do to exercise is jog around my neighborhood, which I'm not too comfortable doing. My neighborhood isn't all that great. I could do some strength workouts inside 3 times a week to help tone some of my muscles, though.

for Breakfast - cut out the juice - it is a lot of calories and added sugars with none of the fiber- find something better than peanut butter - yes it has the protein, but loaded with fats and empty calories too- try 1 toast with an eggDo a morning and afternoon snack (5 or 6 meals really helps)take a piece of fruit and some almonds for a snack between morning classesLunch- you have a lot of processed foods, bread, lunch meat, cheese --> can you substitute a chicken breast planned from last night's dinner?- add some fresh veggies --> carrots, celery, cherry tomatoesAfternoon snack- eat a mini meal here high in protein -- you said you get really hungry by dinnerDinner- It is with your family, so you can't change everything. - Eat half a portion of white foods like rice and mashed potatoes- Help your Mom or Dad in the kitchen with a new recipe that is particularly healthy- Avoid processed or convenience foods, avoid white flour

you sound really healthy in terms of food choices. What about exercise? Maybe you don't exercise enough.

You are eating a lot of carbohydrates and that may be where you have a problem.3 fruits a day is just fine5+ veggies a day [ one serving equals 1/2 cup]3 milk servings a dayTry one toast with pb and one fruit for breakfast. You can scramble some eggs too.Protein has no carbs.A glass of milk ?Lunch:Do the best you can.A salad with turkey, ham , bologna and cheese are all fine.Add one fruit.Dinner is good but watch those starches.Have a simple snack before sleep. Cereal with milk or ice cream or cookies and milk. You didn't say what you are having for snacks but it seems as though you are eating all day.Good luck.I know it's hard

Breakfast:2 pieces of fruit AND a juice box? That's far too much sugar, cut out the juice box and have a cup of tea instead, preferably green. I would recommend having 2 small fruits (like 2 mandarins) or one large fruit (like a banana).White bread has a high GI so you'll only get hungry real quickly.Try (lowest sugar you can find) fruit bread, it's really yummy with jam!Peanut butter is OK, but go easy on it as it usually contains a lot of salt and fat.Lunch:Ditch the pizza! The greasy meat isn't any worse than all that cheese!Dinner:Sounds great, try a big salad instead of soup before or with dinner. Bringing your lunch everyday if much better for you and leaves heaps of money for clothes!!SNACKS:Also try a handful of nuts, a low-fat yogurt, berries, a low-sugar muesli bar or a bran muffin.sounds not too bad!
