| I am 17 years old and I'm around 6 foot and am 135 pounds. Ive been underweight my entire life and am now encouraged to start gaining weight. I am just looking for a food plan and workout for weight gaining. I also have an extremely high metabolism so that doesn't help at all. Thanks for looking. |

| See a nutritionist. When I was on a weight-gain diet I had to consume between 5000 and 6000 carefully planned calories a day. My nutritionist and doctor worked together to get me to gain 8 pounds and put me in a healthy weight range. It was a LOT of eating and seemed like all I did was eat and exercise (I'm a triathlete so I train pretty hard). I was eating 5 meals a day at the time. Most of my diet was protein and carbs with enough fat to help me maintain and add to my body weight. The best part about weight-gain diets is that you can eat that Twinkie without having to do 300 crunches lol. I was on soy protein powder and flax seed as supplements and ate Snicker's Marathon Protein Bars (SO delicious!) like they were candy. Consult a nutritionist or your doctor for the best plan to get you bulked up! Good luck! |
