I'm 17, 5'9, and 125 lbs (I'm Skinny, obviously. I can basically eat anything and weight gain is difficult for me) and I'm wondering what would be the best workout plan to get a toned/lean body. I would like to add muscle, (Not bodybuilder size tho) and have a body similar to that of a models, for example, not huge and ripped. I don't have access to a gym, so machines in the answer won't do me any good. I do have running room, a pull-up bar, yoga mat, & dumbbells. I would prefer a workout that is cross disciplined (yoga, pilates, free-weights, cardio, etc.) and that will receive the best answer. Sorry if I'm picky lol!

do yoga! I love it and it will get you the desired results. pilates would work too, but if you're already thin, why would you want to work out that hard?!

I found this out some time ago. Look on Google for the workout that the Spartans from 300 did. It will kick your butt, but you will look amazing after wards. Just to warn you, it is really really feakin' hard. I attached the website.

you are tellin us what the best answer is...well if you know, why are you askn? since you are asking, you obviously don't know the right answer so just hush up n listen to what others are telling you. as much as people actually give a crap about points, most arent gonna tell ya what u want to hear. they are gonna tell you how it is or whats the point?you need to eat more...more protein especially, more good carbs. you dont need all the accessory stuff. keep your cardio up. go running. then throw some ankle weights on n do some standard leglift exercises. you can search them online. same with arms with a couple free weights. maybe some crunches but if you run with the right form, u should be using all those muscles anyways. im a physical therapist, but you are smarter then me, so do it your way

I was a ballerina for 13 years, and stretching was a big part of my daily routine. So, for that long lean look, pilates and yoga combined with weights should help you achieve that long lean and toned look(as long as you're not using more than 4 or 5 lb. dumb bells. Also, doing lots of reps using low weights gives you a more defined and toned look. If you can get a hold of one, or find it on cable, try belly dancing, it is super fun and tones your hips, thighs, butt, tummy, arms, shoulders, back, and when you're doing the routines it can make you sweat and it does get your heart rate up. Also, all the daily exercises I did in ballet class toned every muscle in my body, it's all about repetition and posture and breathing. They have cardio dance workout tapes you can rent. It's a lot of fun and can be quite challenging even for someone with dance training. I'm used to slow disciplined moves, the cardio dance routines kicked my butt!

For your height, your ideal weight is between 128lbs and 165lbs. You're slightly below the range which I think is still okay. http://thehappyhealth.com/updates/?p=52Probably you've more muscle cells that fat cells. Muscle cells are about 8 times more metabolically demanding than fat cells. This means that larger the percentage of muscle you have in your body, the faster your metabolic rate becomes. This may explain why you can't gain weight fast.No matter what is your age, you can look at feel your best at any age. This can be easily done by knowing how your body functions and what sort of exercises will get your at its peak
