What are the best exercises for being tone, not huge?

| I want to become more toned and defined but no huge, i already do running and abs but i want more for upper body. would push ups work, i have a home gym with a couple of things but its not that good? I dont want to go to a gym either, any suggestions |

| Resistance bands, Medicine balls, or exercise balls (they have several types) or light dumbbells, you want light weight with a lot of repetition. |

| Tone is not a correct term in weightlifting. Your muscles only grow and shrink. The way to make your muscles stand out more is you have to make them bigger by doing sets of 3 and reps of 8-15 with medium weight of your one rep maximum. The other way to make your muscles stand out more is to lose fat and body weight. |

| push up work, weights, if you can swim in a pool, doing laps works your back and arms and some tai bo yoga and pilates stuff is really good to. i do the dvds at home because id feel ridiculous doing the workouts in front of people at the gym |
