I walk about 1.6m/ 2.5km to work in the morning and I'd walk quite briskly to get the most out of it. I'm thinking about getting a bike for the journey and was wondering which of the two would burn off the most calories in the trip.Thanks

Cycling, you would have to walk at quite a pace to burn off what you would burn using a bike.

i think swimming is better that both...but out the 2 i would say walking...xxx

cycling for 30 minutes can burn up to 600 calories i know i read it.

Cycling is better as you can go at a faster pace therefore burning more calories.

walking burns more calories as you use more energy walking than cycling, cycling is more easier because once you get moving it takes less energy to keep moving

walking burns more calories preferably power walking, keep it up. (they say sex is better exercise than anything)

walking if its the same distancecycling would be better if we would be talking about the same amount of time spent.

It depends.Mostly on the intensity! That is the key factor.All that said:Get the bike, and then walk briskly to work some days, and ride others. You can also use the bike for other trips; longer distances, enjoy fun rides, and get some intensity out of riding the bike longer. This will add variety to your exercise and make it more enjoyable.
