| So about 6 months ago I started taking anti depressants, I was told I might gain some weight but 5 lbs max. Ended up switching meds and told the doc I did not want to gain any more weight because I had gained more then the 5 lbs. She gave me something new and said thats what she would give to a patient if they were trying to lose weight. Again I gained more weight. Went to switch and let her know how strong my feelings were about gaining weight she gave me something else and said I shouldnt gain weight but I gained more. I got up to 160 from 135. I have never weighed this much except when I was pregnant with a baby in me I got up to 150, before that I was 125. Now I will not go out with my husband and his friends because I am so ashamed of my body and I dont want to emberass my husband. I once again was given another medicine but before taking it I did research online and found out that you can gain weight from it so I called my docter and she finally tells me there is no medicine that for sure will not make me gain weight. Why wouldnt she tell me this in the first place when she knew from the start I was worried about weight? I have Kaiser insurance and they have special weight loss plans that cost $100 a week where they provide the food and special groups to help you on your way. I was wanting to join their program but do you think they should have to pay when my doctor was witholding information from me and she even had wrote in her records that weight was an issue. If I got fat on my own I wouldnt expect this and since being off the meds in the past week I have lost 5 lbs without changing my eating habits or exercise so I know for a fact it didnt have to do with what I was doing. |

| Sorry to hear you gained some weight. You could try suing your doctor, but I doubt anything will come from it. People have different reactions to medications and there is no way a doctor is going to know how it will affect you until they give the meds and see what they do. The medicine was prescribed to you for a reason, if it alleviated that ailment then you should probably let this go and just try to diet and exercise on your own to lose the weight. |

| I don't know if they should pay you because you could have researched about all three pills before taking them. But with that said, why would you when you trust your doctor will be telling you the truth?Since I am also very sensitive about weight gain, if I were in your situation I wouldn't back down and would make them pay. But since you said you already lost weight without changing your diet, maybe losing weight will be very simple for you :)www.thegirldiaries.com |
