| I'm interested in getting an exercise bike! would a basic one do the job for me. i want to tone my legs and loose abit off the bum. will it do this, and what are the good benefits on having an exercise bike. i haven`t rode a bicycle since i was little. i am 21 now. i'd rather cycle in the comfort and privacy of my own home. how long should i cycle for to do anything for me> and will i get huge thighs? i don't want big muscely legs. i'm female size 6-8 and want to stay that way. is it possible? ive been this size for it seems a long time. just want to tone up. walking doesnt seem to do it for me. i can do any sport really as i have a bad back so i have to do gentle sort of exercise so i don`t jar my back. any ideas for me would be greatly appreciated!! |

Hi,Ok so you want an exercise bike... it sounds a great idea... however please take stock before you pay out all the money that they cost. How very sure are you that you will HONESTLY commit yourself to a strict regime of using it!Friends of mine over the years, have owned these bikes and I have seen that "so wanted" bike - still sitting in the spare room collecting dust- while the owners bum just gets bigger and bigger !You HAVE to have good self discipline and make yourself use it to make it worthwhile. So having said that - if you feel you will use it - then you will justify it to yourself to purchase it.Remember - to get off your bum and excercise it - that's the best way. You have Youth behind you - you can do it! I am female & have just passed a VERY HARD physical test for my job at 59 years of age and I got fit AND toned and trim by starting with the walks , then got into running outdoors for 40 mins 3 times a week. I now have the body of a girl your age [ they tell me I even look good in a bikini ] Running is so good for toning legs & bums and it keeps me trim and in great shape.Oh and I did excercises at home too - like push-ups, sit ups and pumped up my arm muscles with hand held weights - you could do that - using light weights. (or tins of bake beans in each hand :)You DON'T need to go to the gym & spend volumes of money these days - you can do it at home. Plenty of advice and suitable easy exercises to do at home on the Internet. There are great ideas for people who need to exercise and have Bad Backs - do some Internet Searches and you will find usueful execises.ALL you NEED is self contol & self disciplne and WANT to get fit, trim and a nice bum!Good Luck |
