If the average packet of lard is roughly 1lb, why is it not that noticable when losing 1lb of body weight?

If the average packet of lard is roughly 1lb, then why does it not look as if we have lost that much when we have lost 1lb of bodyweight? 1lb of lard looks like quite a bit.I know that some of the loss is muscle and water, but after losing 2/3 lbs, atleast 1lb of fat must have been lost.
