You see, I'm visiting relatives in Cyprus with my family and it's going to be one of those holidays where you're endlessly visiting peoples houses and 'socialising' (which of course isn't a bad thing). However, I doubt I will be able to get away to go to the gym and I was wondering if 10 days of no excersise will 'reverse' most of the hard work I've done in the gym lately?I probably will be doing a fair bit of walking, but I don't think it will be a substantial amount.

In your spar time on the vaccation try doing push ups and ab exercises. If you can find a good park or some where to run try running. The easiest thing to do would be push ups and crunches, planks, ect. Just be sure when you get back go to the gym.

Definitely not. If you're normally a sporty person, just 10 days won't do anything to your body. Our bodies have a way of neutralizing our weight, so even if you go crazy and eat mickeyds straight for 10 days, you'll only gain water weight, and it wouldn't last once you get back to norm.

you may have a small "reverse" effect, but if you eat right while you are on your break you will keep that to a mininum. taking some time off is good for the body to completely rest and recover. so enjoy the time off, still continue to eat right and if you lost a step while on vacation it will only take about a week or so to gain back to where you last started...hope that helps

You lose muscle at about the same rate as it takes to gain it. You can mitigate this loss by exercising the major muscle groups. For thighs do squats and lungs, for pecs do push ups (you can raise your feet up on some stairs or a chair for more intensity), for the lower back do stiff legged dead lifts - hold something fairly heavy when you do this one. For the upper back do some bent over rows - use the same heavy object you used for the lower back. Do crunches for your abs and some aerobic exercises and you shouldn't notice much change.

as long as you stick to the eating portion of your healthy lifestyle you will be fine, your body needs a chance to heal/rest from the gym, so use the time wisely and if you slip up do so in moderation. Good luck.

no very unlikely.. if u are already fit.. and already have a good base of fitness.. its just some recovery time for u.... u will not reverese much.. and u will not gain very much... even if u do.. it will come off very quick when u get backu can always do pushups and situps on your vacation... try and jog in the morinings before afternoon plans.. but u are not obligated to do this.. you'll be okhappy vacation

Go have fun do not worry.Use a pedometer and some time during the day compensate for the deficiency next day, if need be. Rule of thumb is 5 to 6 miles per day. Enjoy eating every thing but eat little and keep tract of it by writing down. But drink plenty of water, drink it before you put any thing in the mouth to eat.10 days will not be any problem, if you just watch it.Do you go to gym every day when at home?Say you do not burn 500 cal per day that is only 5000 cal it is not even 2 pounds of fat tissue. Got it.Just weigh yourself befor going and do it on retuning. Work those cal off after returning in next 4 weeks. Just keep written records.
