pilates are always good. hats off to you if you can keep it up. they are brutal. I would keep your heart rate around 65% of its max and stay in the "fat burn zone". So walk fast for an hour. Use an eliptical if you can.

All exercise is good, but running on hard surfaces can do irreparable damage to your joints, so pilates and walking is best.

Walking for an hour will burn more calories than running for half an hour.Don't use any weights and you wont have to worry about looking like a man!Pilates is a great exercise system for women.

Run for 30min. Look at a walker's physique vs a runner's physique and tell me which you prefer. Pilates will help.

Running is probably the best cardio you can do, but the other answers are right, it can be brutal on your joints. If you run outside, try doing it on the grass...I believe treadmills act as a buffer and can be better for your body. Walking will make you sweat, but you probably won't see the same results as you would with running.Pilates is an awesome workout, moreso to build your core muscles and keep tone. If you're looking for an intense workout, try pilates and running. Maybe walk when you want to give yourself a break.
