So recently I've gained about 20lbs.....and now when I try to diet or lose weight nothing works, everthing I try I can't stick to, I feel like I am not eating enough, and end up binging all night, so from morning til probably 3pm ill only have 500cal or less and try to keep it within that range the rest of the day, but I end up eating 4x what I'm suppost to resulting in bingeing, I used to purge when I would binge but I stopped that, I am 17 and going into my seinor year I'm 5'7 and 160lbs...I need some kind of a plan that someone can help me with and tell me what kinds of food to eat and when to eat itPLEASEEE I have had a weight problem for 2 1/2 years now I just want to feel good about myself

500 calories is way too low, that's why you cant stick to it. You should at least be eating1,000 a day and work out for 30 mins everyday, that's what im doing and it's working.

it sounds like you've slowed down your metabolism. eating only 500 kcal from morning to 3pm is not enought. as for the bingeing because you are not eating enought its making you hungry causing you to beinge. when you deny yourself food it make you wont it more.what you could do to help you lose weight. is eat 5-6 small meals spaced about 2-3 hours apart. drink about 2+litres of water this should speed up you slow metabolism. good luck

first of all 5'7" and 160 pounds isn't that bad. Secondly eating to little will prevent weight loss. Your body will go into starvation mode. At your age, and the fact that that really isn't that heavy, I'd suggest just eating healthy. For example:For breakfast eat a bowl of oatmeal (one pre-done pack, or one measured serving) with some fruit. Also some natural juice, milk, or water. Or a bagel with cream cheese. Or a bowl of healthy cereal like bran flakes, granola, etc. For lunch- a sandwich, you can even use a tortilla instead of bread. go light on mayo (switching to "salad dressing" like Miracle whip is a good idea!) and other dressings. Also always include some fruit. after school/work eat a small healthy snack. Then have a sensible dinner! The main problem with people, and I face this to is portions. They eat 2, 3, or even 4 (or more) servings as though they were just one! Also prepackaging foods tend to be worse for you. Switch to all natural foods. eat fruit and veggies whenever possible. Here's a simple thing of why I suggest natural foods. The reason bread is so "bad" for you is that most of it has high amounts of high fructose corn syrup. If you look at a natural slice of bread vs a standard slice not only it is usually bigger, if you read the nutrition facts it is much better for you! Also since it contains what you need, and not unnessecary fillers you feel fuller longer. If you have eaten healthyily, and had enough, but feel hungery drink a glass of water. Often times thirst is confused for hunger! And if you feel thirsty you are already dehydated! Drink a lot of water! Also the best thing to do is feel secure in yourself despite your weight! Not everone is a size 6. The majority of american women are a size 10 or larger! If it helps make of list of things you DO like about yourself, until that list is so long you forget about the things you dislike!

Okay, desperate for attention, I'll help you out. You already know what your options are, but for sake of simplicity, I'm gonna lay them out for you.1. Get a doctor to remove the tiny amount of fat you have.2. Quit binging. Either hire someone to hit you with a brick every time you overeat, or simply get some self-control. 3. Realize the following facts. You are not fat. Stop obsessing over the two pounds you have over the average, and go hang out at the mall. Don't eat donuts, twinkies, ice cream with tons of chocolate on the top, or any of those other 'bad for you' things. Eat vegetables, fruits, bread, fish, and meat. The food pyramid, ya'll remember it. Four times 500 calories is exactly what you're supposed to eat in a day. Don't beleive me? Go look at the nutrition label on any food."Based on a 2,000 calorie diet.' Know why it says that? Because you're supposed to have 2000 calories in a day. Any less than that and you're going to get malnutrition. Good for you on stopping the purging. At least if you make the switch to anorexic, you'll still have your teeth when you do it.You want to feel good? Make an effort to only have one helping. Realize that you don't have to count calories, but you don't have to eat everything on your plate just because it's there, either. Don't eat things you know are bad for you, but don't swear off cake forever either. What's the point of being beautiful if you can never have cake???Now, put on something you can tan in, and go get a tan at the beach, or the pool, or the park. Hang out with your friends, and remember: You will NEVER look like the people on TV. No one does.

You dont need a diet or jenny craig or atkins whatever all that bullshit is dont listen to it. ive just recently lost close to 30 pounds, im 21, female, im 5'7. heres what u do, This is exactly what I do still to this day... its really this simple...everyday you must workout for at least 50 min. I do 30 min of cardio on an incline (treadmill) and about 20-25 min of weight lifting. I do the cardio every single day but the weight lifting every other day - (one day the upper body and the next day the lower body)Dont eat junk foodand stay away from fried, greasy foods. If you go out order chicken salads or fish or grilled chicken sandwich, etc... no mayo!!!I eat 3-6 times a day and only have one serving of anything i eat. And most days actually when i feel like eating junk, i will have dark chocolate just a piece or two (its better for you and healthy actually) so i dont feel im depriving myself or lollipops work. Dont ever skip breakfast! and dont eat past 7pm at night or the food will just sit there like a brick in ur body (gross!) this will help your metabolism. But i pretty much eat normally- lots of grilled chicken, fruits vegetables, cereals(cheerios and corn flakes), sandwiches, wraps, any kind of fish, pastas, bread (oh and white cheddar popcorn thats pre-made in the bag for snack or pretzels but only like 2 hand fulls of them with your lunch and dinner!!)... etc.. just dont eat a lot of what youre eating thats all. if you're going to eat carbs try to eat them earlier in the day so u dont sleep on them at night. You will probably feel hungry but its okay, (your stomach is shrinking when that happens because its used to eating more than what your new eating habits are now.) Trust me on this... it worked and its still working... i wasnt in bad shape, but i wanted to lose weight, get lean and have a little muscle and boy did that work!! I just came home from college and my family was shocked. im not skinny or stickly i think thats gross. im tight and toned and have an athletic body; a "gabby reece" (the volley ball player) look to me.Im still doing this right now to stay in shape and ive been doing this for 8 months now and it feels weird if i dont workout - i have to! its a lifestyle not a diet. but DO NOT GIVE UP. You have to stay consistent or you will get frustrated and it wont work. And you wont see results for a good month or two. So be patient trust me it pays off. Drink lottttts of water. with every meal if u can. no soda unless its diet. with cereal i have soy milk or skim milk- nothing else. i have a lot of other tips with food and working out... if you wanna know more just ask... my email is ariezgrl67@yahoo.com

First, I'm sure you feel that you are fat, but your really don't have a weight problem. 160 lbs at 5'7" is only slightly over the normal range, according to the BMI index (see link below). Personally, I feel that the BMI index and medical community wants us all to be too thin. That said, here's some things for you to think about. I'm not going to tell you what to eat and when to eat it. Everyone is different. Cutting back to 500 calories during the day isn't giving your body enough fuel to maintain, so you end up binging. Here are some things to try: - Portion control - eat regular meals that are smaller. - Add more lean protein into your diet. Protein satisfies your hunger more then carbs so you don't get hungry as soon. - If you do find you need to snack, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. You get more vitamins and the fresh fruits can satisfy cravings for sweets. - Increase your exercise. Even if all you do is walk around the block once a day, it is better then not doing anything.
