I want to know how long it will take for me to notice a change in my muscle tone, and slimming in my waistline. I'm working out 3-4 days a week- about 20 minutes on weights. I'm also doing interval training on the treadmill, and road cycling (only for about 20 minutes, my butt's not used to the new bike seat yet!). I have cut out almost all sugar and I've already noticed a drop in my weight a little bit. How long will it take for me to notice a difference? Should I be documenting weight and measurements daily?

are your muscles getting sore? if they are then yeah your improving and you'll notice improvement in a week or 2 and if your muscles are not getting sore that means you need to work out longer and try using heavier weights

If you are really determined then exercise from 30 minutes to an hour a day 4 times a week and you will be fit in about 4 to 6 weeks depending on how much fat and calories you have. Your matabalism is important too!

you need to increase your body toning workouts to at least an hour. I work out for at least an hour on weights, and treadmill for a good half hour. Also your diet will help depending on your daily calorie intake.

it may help you to document your weight loss say once a week or maybe twice, it can be a big confidence boost to see you lost 3-4 pounds say per week, gives you incentive to keep losing it. it took me about 6 weeks to loose 20 pounds or so, and for me once i lost about 20 pounds was when i and others noticed that i looked slimmer. that amount could vary vastly depending on how much extra weight you have and how much you weighed to start.anyways dont give up you and others will notice the difference soon enough...

Have you done weight training before? If so and you've had good muscle tone it won't take so long; muscle memory.

well..i think there is a differt timing for everyone.. but the way my sister does it is... you check your weight evry morning without dressing up the second you gets up...jot it down in a journal or some paper...and then you can see the average weight you lose evry day (ex. mon-5 tues-5 wed-4.5) so the rate would be .5 evry two days or something.. and then know what weight you are aiming for so you can estimate how long it would take --Hope this helps you BD |

Put on a pair of jeans that were tight before you started. Check each week and you'll notice. If you measured yourself (neck, chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves, upper arms) before you started or do it now, check in a month and you'll definately notice a difference. Don't depend on a scale, especially if you are building muscle and reducing fat.

Don't document daily. That will probably have adverse effects on your mental determination. Because daily progress adds up over time you should think about documenting every two or three weeks. This way the changes are more noticeable and by far more motivating. If you keep at it regularly, it will probably take three or four weeks before you start to notice a real difference from where you started in muscle tone and maybe a little longer in waistline.
