You left out G.W. Carver. Also my favorite (and maybe the most ironic). The black man who developed blood plasma, whose invention saved thousands of lives during WWII, bled to death outside a hospital because they wouldn't let him in because he was black!

Oh yea, and there is so much more to go on. Blacks have contributed a whole lot to society. It's a shame on how most of it gets overlooked. But we do know that without them and their inventions it would be impossible to live good like we do now.

MOST of your list is in error-J. Standard did NOT invent the refrigerator, just improved it.Same with most on your list-Paule E. Williams improved, not invented, the helicoptor. I could go on about almost all of them.Improving an patent is NOT the same as inventing(totally new concept).I am not sure what your point is, but if you say you are not racist, why are you trying to claim Blacks(a whole ethinicity) invented these things when, in most cases, they only improved upon what was ALREADY invented, and, by mostly Whites?Dr. John Kellogg, not, George Washinton Carver, invented peanut butter in the 1800's. Carver made a paste from peanuts at a much later date. The peanut butter myth has not died yet.Carver did discover over 300 other uses for peanuts, but did NOT invent peanut butter.Dr. Charles Richard Drew (June 3, 1904 – April 1, 1950),Black physician, did NOT invent Blood Banking and/or transfusion-he improved upon the tranfusion and blood banking methods and storage of blood products, but did NOT invent them-still a very impressive feat in itself. An urban legend holds that Drew was denied care by a nearby hospital because of his race, and bled to death. This is denied by Dr. John Ford, one of three other BLACK doctors with whom he was travelling, who stated: "We all received the very best of care. The doctors started treating us immediately. He had a broken neck and superior vena caval syndrome-blood was blocked getting back to his heart from his brain and upper extremities. To give him a transfusion would have killed him sooner. Even the most heroic efforts couldn't have saved him. I can truthfully say that no efforts were spared in the treatment of Dr. Drew, and, contrary to popular myth, the fact that he was a N*egro did not in any way limit the care that was given to him." -WikipediaDrew was taken to Alamance General Hospital in Burlington, a segregated hospital. He was pronounced dead a half hour after his first reception of medical attention. His funeral procession was held on April 5, 1950, at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church.-WikipediaThe false story of his death was repeated in an episode of the popular television series M*A*S*H.-WikipediaWhy then the legend? Ms. Love, a historian who has taught at Duke and the University of Oregon, answers this question in part by recounting the events surrounding the death of another black man, Maltheus Avery, a student at North Carolina A & T State College, who was involved in a serious automobile accident in Alamance County on Dec. 1, 1950, eight months to the day after Dr. Drew died. Avery was refused treatment at Duke University Hospital in Durham "because Duke's 'black beds' were full." He was then taken to Durham's smaller and less well-equipped black hospital, where he died less than an hour after admission. In 1983, when the author interviewed Warmoth Gibbs, a former dean of A & T State, about Avery's death, he replied, "Wasn't he riding with Dr. Drew?"To the above:Originally from the Ancient world of Blacks who invented the following: (THEY DID NOT-THE ARABS-SEMITIC WHITES DID))WRITING ( hieroglyphics ) MATH (Imhotep) SCIENCE (Imhotep) , MEDICINE ( Imhotep) ARCHITECTUREI could go on and on...stuff like that.TO DO SO WOULD NOT BE SPREADING THE TRUTH.The Arabs(Semitic Whites, not Blacks) did-research your history-Egypt was/still is Arab(Semitic White) and has been since 5,000 B.C. when the Arabs built the Pyramids.Egypt(no name before Arab rule) is the land's ARABIC given name.Nubia, the lower southern 1/4 of Egypt and including the Sudan, was Black and was conquered by the Arabs. To prevent total annhilation, the Nubians/people of Kemet made pacts with the Arabs to be Pharoahs, so there are some Black Pharoahs, but the majority are Arab(Semitic White). These are very easily verified facts by both Black and White SCHOLARS so using the ethinicity card for a thumbs down is plain biased-research the facts-Blacks as well as Whites have researched them.I am not Black, but have many Black friends and have dated many Black women-screaming predjudice, therefore, does NOT play in here ANYWHERE-these are facts-look them up yourself.Don't use hearsy-go by scholarly credentials.Again, SHOW ME SOME FACTS OTHERWISE BY CREDENTIALED SCHOLARs-TRUE, NOT SELF-PROCLAIMED CREDENTIALS, AND NOT ANECDOTAL HEARSAY BY WISHFUL THINKERS.Alas, as usual, all the thumbs down, not a credible piece of fact nor dates, just hearsay against time proven and scholarly evidence.
