Does cycling for around 4.8km daily going to help me lose weight?I'm 15, female, 164cm tall, and disgustingly 53kg heavy. i cycle that distance (around 4.8km) at least every alternate nights while carrying my dog. As in, my dog (9kg in weight) gets to sit in the basket in front of the bike while i cycle. I try to cycle as fast as i could for a few seconds and then cycle slower for another few seconds and repeat. Anyways, does cycling help to lose weight, or lose water from your body, or lose fats, or simply gain more leg muscles??cuz i'm only interested in losing fats, and not the least bit interested in gaining anything, muscles or otherwise. please tel me whether cycling helps in losing fats??

Cycling cause you to lose water fast, fat slowly and builds leg muscles. At your weight, you need to ride around 200 km to lose 1 kg of fat. Assuming as always that you are eating a maintenance diet which is somewhat less than you were eating while gaining weight. But keep cycling, it is one of the best exercises for weight loss.

Yes. The type of sprinting you are doing is the best way to lose body fat. keep it up and you will develop more endurance and lose body fat. But only if your diet is reasonable.
