Do some sit-ups instead! There are all these complicated diet things, but the simple equation is you gain weight if you eat more calories then you burn and you lose weight if you burn more calories then you eat.You could also be a tad bloated. You should try going on a fast. That doesn't mean that you should suddenly stop eating and survive on water though, it's something to research and look into. There are a lot of different ways to fast and the intensity is up to you.Good luck!p.s.- my favorite thing in the world for health is yoga, but I know that the chances of you going to try it just because I say so are very slim =].oh, but to answer your question... it can't be answered. that depends completely on your body type, the intensity of those 20 minutes, what your diet is like, etc.good luck!

It takes about 20 minutes before your system is affected by any exercise. So time beyond that is what counts. I would say about 45 min. - 1 hour total on the bike. However, you should consider cross training, as biking is mainly a lower body exercise. I bike combined with a Concept 2 Rower. An hour each time, one day biking, the next day rowing for 6 days and take Sunday off. Also stretching before and after very important. You also need to research proper food intake - lots of fresh fruit and veggies and lots of water. Protein from meat should be limited. Top up your protein using powdered whey protein mixed with water. There's loads of info on the internet - suggest you do some research. By the way, I'm 75 years old and still play hockey twice a week. Team sports becomes a lot of fun when you're in shape. Try it.
