I need a flexible walking shoe for a treadmill. I can't use a hard, unflexible shoe and don't want a running shoe. I"m familiar with many brands BUT they have dozens of models and don't answer questions about flexiblity. I need advice from people who know fitness shoes. Thank you.Okay, I've been checking these Nike Free shoes you folks have suggested. They look great BUT I did need a "walking shoe", and they usually have the curved backs and flex easily since the foot strikes the ground differently when walking. I can't run yet. What do you think of this shoe in this regards?Well, okay, I was trying to help out by adding that last post, but . . . I had originally said I needed walking shoes, not running. I said it was important. You shouldn't wear running shoes for walking purposes because the shape of the shoes is different for important reasons. I just can't see why I would be told to get Nikes Free running shoes several times. Maybe this Answer forum is for advertising?

Any shoe in the "Running" category will have a flexible sole what you need to do is go to a sports store and try on a bunch of different shoes, we all have different feet slightly and different brands fit different people...well differently also make sure you get something that has padding above the heel or you are asking for blisters. If I was to recommend one shoe it would be the Nike Free, get the 7 (it comes 7, 5 and 3)

If you want good shoes, there is a new design by Nike called Nike Free. These shoes have a different sole that is suppose to let your feet regain its natural stability back. The sole is divided into many sections across the entire foot allowing your foot to bend the way it should be. Shoes nowadays have so much support that the muscles in your feet dont have to work as hard to support your body weight and movement. These shoes let you regain all that. Plus, the shoes are extremely light, very flexible and not too expensive at all. Have a look at Nike.com and search "free"
