I've been following a walking plan for a week now and my feet are shot! I have a huge blister under my big toe and the rest of my feet feel like they're covered in blisters even though they aren't. Shoes hurt today! Is there anything I can do barefoot at home to get my cardio?

Starjumps, Jogging on the spot, runing up and down the hall way.. Maybe you got blisters from incorrect footwear..

I wouldn't suggest anything barefoot. It might help your exterior pain but it's going to kill your muscles and bones. Your feet need support. Also, walking for a week should not hurt your fee that bad, I Would seriously consider upgrading your foot wear. Swimming and biking would be great though, no pressure on the feet at all.

well if your feet are sore, how about giving cardio a miss and focus on strength and core training...you could do some low impact yoga or weights..(need not to be fancy ones, containers of rice, or water bottles.) situps, push ups and that sort.. it keeps you off your feet but allows for excercise. remember cardio is good, but wights and strength training are also important to good excercise plans..hope this helps.. I'd say start out with a nice foot soak - http://relaxation-stress-reduction.suite101.com/article.cfm/relaxing_f oot_soaks, to help ease those sore feet back into service. Then make sure your shoes are fitting well - http://shoesaccessories.suite101.com/article.cfm/if_the_shoe_fits. Swimming is probably going to be the only non-foot-involved exercise you can do that works the whole body. Other activities could be seated stretches, and weights. Here's some videos that demonstrate upper body workouts, you can be the judge to which ones will feel best with your sore feet: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/exercise_demos.asp?exercise_type=u pper. When you get back into walking take things slowly and build up to your routine. It may help prevent blistering in the future.
