what are some types of cardio? i'd like to lose some weight in the tummy, arm, and thigh area but i'm having trouble finding exercises that dont make me gain calf muscle (i have some and i hate it!) any suggestions? would running or walking on a treadmill, or biking on a cycle machine help?

yes cardio helps!!! i do it for and hour a day 3 times a week! its great at removing/burning fat because youre always moving around! just try adding some light weights when you get used to working out they'll help you burn twice the amount of fat.

Cardio is the best to lose weight.Running on a treadmill and biking would help, and like Ladybug said, swimming would help a lot too, especially if you don't want to build calf muscle.

Running, walking, cycling, skipping, swimming, aerobics, jumping rope, and simply being more physically active throughout the day will all assist in weight loss. You will see the best results if you also incorporate some weight/strength training into your regiment. Believe me you will not look like a man if you pick up a weight heavier than 5lbs. (women have approximately 1/17th the testosterone that men have which limits muscular gains considerably.) Also, diet is a MAJOR factor in weight loss and maintenance. Pay attention to portion sizes, eat a variety of foods within each food group and focus on balance among all food groups, drink plenty of water, eat high fiber foods, read nutrition labels on the product packages and know what you are putting into your body. Become informed - read articles and have a plan for what you want to achieve.
