I ask because although I do an hour on my stationary cycle in the mornings, I have swapped the other 30 mins for an hour of brisk walking... I read that walking actually burns off more calories than cycling, but is this true if you are using a magnetic resistance bike?

A five minute run as hard as you can is better than both.Even four. Just do it fats as you can for four minutes, you may need to feel around to get your pace, this is far better than either.

Everything you do is better than not doing anything...be more concerned with being consist that what. It is good to switch things up anyway, so do one for awhile and then switch. Good for you for doing.
