I currently do 90 minutes of intense cycling on my stationary bike and a further 30 mins of toning exercises (squats, lunges etc) at night, but I notice a few have suggested weight training... which involved buying weights and finding out exactly how to do the damn thing.I have a few questions. 1) how much exercise should I do per day to keep my weight down? 2)What is the best combination of exercise to lose weight or keep weight down? 3) What exercises should I avoid if I do not want to build up muscle weight?

You should do the cycling on your bike 6 days out of the week. You need a day to rest. Also, you should do the toning exercises 4 days out of 7 because your muscles need extra rest. Just work out different muscles each day. The best combination of exercises would be to do cardio such as walking, running or cycling and doing push-ups and crunches and some toning exercises. The exercises you should do to avoid gaining muscle is cardio. By running, walking jogging, cycling, doing an elliptical the only muscles your working are mostly cardio muscles.
