I am a 51 year old male. Last September I started my weight loss program. I weighed 355 pounds. I now weigh 230 pounds but am feeling tired and less energetic. I joined a health club and work out before and after work 4 days a week and once a day the other 3 days. The 4 days about 3 hours a day and the 3 days about an hour and a half. I have been eating 4 times a day about 500 calories each meal. I feel I need a shock to my system to get me revved up again. Any suggestions out there? Thanks

Hi there,I think what you are doing is great ! But instead of a "shock to your system" why not try different routines when you go exercise at your health club the next time round ? I think your health club will probably have cardio programs. You should consider taking it up to add some different routines and make your exercises more interesting. Research has shown that if you continue doing the same exercises over and over again, your body will soon adapt to it. Our bodies are amazing machines. However, when that happens, you will find that you will hit a plateau in your weight loss program because your body is accustomed to the workouts that you are constantly repeating. So, mix it up a little. Take some cardio programs to mix it up with your resistance training. Giving your body new challenges will cause it to adapt and help in your weight loss goals. You may also consider taking up a weight loss hypnosis program. You can either work with a qualified weight loss hypnosis therapist or you can purchase weight loss hypnosis cds which you can use anywhere, anytime. How will it help you ? Well, a weight loss hypnosis program has suggestions to help you keep to your weight loss goals and motivating you to continue doing your workouts. Many people start their weight loss programs and lose weight but after a while, they get bored and lose steam and gain the weight they lost right back ! Weight loss hypnosis helps because the programs works with your subconscious mind, which is where your habits and behaviours resides. By "programming" your subconscious mind to choose healthier choices of food, eating less and keeping to your exercise routine as a habit, you will not only keep to your exercise and diet routines easily, you will not have to consciously force yourself to eat healthier or keep to your workouts. You can check out this website for your information below.

wow thats a lot of excercise..well done on loosing so much weight already...your doing a lot but i always found excercise is enough of a pick me up, due to the endorphins you release when you excercise ...is there any goal you can work to, i know im a 23 year old female but i always find a goal (like a bag, or item of clothing etc) that you really want picks me up and gets me going again if im having a low moment...your doing really well and should be very proud of your success..i really hope ive helped you, but i know everyone has their different methods,..wish you luck.xx

Try taking a B vitamin or an everyday vitamin that is specifically for your age bracket (they tend to run high on the B vitamins.)
