I have been following weight watchers since January 20th, and have been losing weight since then. That said, 2 weeks ago I weighed 131 lbs. My goal was by this saturday to weigh under 130 (even if it was 129. . Then last wed I weighed 129.6 and I was so proud. I continued to follow the program to the tee and exercised, and then my weigh in this week was 131.4! Then I tried even harder to be more healthy, and today I weighed 132! I am frustrated because a. I feel like I failed my goal and b. because I am working my butt off and not seeing the results. What's going on? I do a weights class once a week which is endurance only (i lift 5-10 lb weights) so I know it's not a muscle weighing more than fat thing. What I'm wondering is if being constipated can result in that much of a gain? I have gone to the bathroom a few times this week, but mostly very small (sorry for the details). Will I see a big loss next week once my system cleans itself out? I need encouragment. |

It is very likely that the extra weight is just waste that has not left your body yet. I wouldn't worry too much about it right now. Just make sure you're sticking to your diet/exercise plan! Don't let the unexpected weight gain discourage you and cause you to overeat. Sounds like you're doing a great job, so just keep sticking to it! The weight is probably just water weight or waste weight, especially since the weight gain is only 1.8 lbs. 2 cups of water equal 1 pound, so it's probably just something in your body. |

| Are you going to have your period soon? Because I know that right up and somtimes during the time of my period I can gain 3-4 pounds of water! Constipation is also a sign of PMS so I am not sure if that is what it is...As long as you are eating healthily and exercising, don't worry about it. The human body can be very sensitive to various things and your weight, especially being a woman, will fluctuate, that doesn't mean you are gaining back fat though. Keep plugging along...another thing that might help is that you could be consuming too much salt...that is can causes significant water gain too. |

| It you are working out as hard as you sound like you are, the weight you have put on is probably muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you think about it like this. If you gain 10 lbs in fat people will notice your increase in size, but if you gain the same amount in muscle, it will not look like it because musle takes up less space. I'm a pretty small person and I lift 5-10 lbs too and my weight fluctuates like that, so I think it is the "muscle fat thing."If you want to lose total body fat, you should jog/run or get on an eliptical. I guarantee you will see the results the next time you get on the scale. If you stick with 5-10 pounds and of lifting your weight shouldn't increase. |
